About Nomvula

Nomvula was born at kwaBulawayo, the great royal umuzi that Shaka built as his capital, the daughter of a woman who had been part of the ikohlo, the left-hand section of the royal household, since before Nomvula could walk. She was raised inside the rhythms of the izigodo and understands the internal geography of power there with a precision that most indunas, who only ever see the formal face of the household, do not possess.
