About Titus Aufidius Scaeva

Titus Aufidius Scaeva was born in the Samnite hills, a people who had once fought Rome and lost. His father was a farmer, his mother a weaver, and he grew up with a memory of the old times — the times when his people were free. He enlisted in the Roman legions when he was eighteen, driven by a need to prove himself and a hunger for something more than a farmer's life.
